Boy have I neglected the blog. Of course, I really only blog when I travel, and since I haven’t been traveling I haven’t been blogging. This doesn’t mean I haven’t been eating, of course … or drinking for that matter.
In case anybody is reading, I’d like to offer a quick drink recipe. And the backstory. My friends all know of my deep affection for Peanut Butter Cups. They are one of the Best. Things. Ever. I may marry them someday.
I have searched for a satisfactory cocktail recipe to no avail. They either contain a lot of milk, which is more of a milkshake, or ingredients that I just can’t find locally. So I had to make up my own. And here it is:
Butterblogger’s Peanut Butter Cup Cocktail
- 1 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream
- 1 oz Creme de Cacao
- 1/2 oz Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur
- 1/2 oz Kahlua
- 1/2 oz Frangelico
- 1 tbsp (be generous) creamy peanut butter.
- Pinch of salt
Add all ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail (ie martini) glass, and enjoy.
More updates will be coming. Almost certainly in March, if not sooner. Happy New Year!
Hummm . . . I absolutely love the peanut butter cups, too . . . Would love to try the drink, sans everything you list except 4 peanut butter and Bailey’s because those are the only 2 inged’s you list that I have. Will take a shake at it though, with some mods and if it goes well, will show and tell. . . . Thanks for the idea, though!
Make sure to add some salt! PBC’s are salty, and the salt brings out the peanut butter flavor! Good luck!
OMB, good call. I tried it with Bailys, pb, and a little hot tap water (to be sure the pb would dissolve), and choc syrup. It WAS delicious. Will have to go at it again with the salt next time. Thanks!!
